Financial aid for the education of the children of the chief architect who died in the fire, condolence: Chief Commissioner
BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath said that condolence was offered today to commemorate the death of Chief Engineer CM Shivakumar, who was seriously injured in the fire incident at the Quality Control Laboratory of BBMP.
Addressing the Shadhanjali dedication program organized to commemorate the death of CM Shivakumar, who was the chief developer, he said that in the background of Shivakumar's death, the Honorable Deputy Chief Minister has informed the government to submit a proposal and accordingly the proposal will be submitted soon.
Such an incident has never happened in the history of the corporation. It is a very sad matter and a very painful matter. Although a lot of efforts were made to save him, the treatment was ineffective, but he left us all. The officers/staff working here are working without caring for their lives. He informed that the officials work day and night according to the situation.
Shivakumar risked his own life to save the officer/staff present at the time of the fire incident and finally came out. He said that he realized the responsibility of his position and acted like a leader.
Rs.95.5 lakhs for the education assistance of Shivakumar's children :
About Rs 95.5 lakh was deducted from the salaries of all grade employees working under the corporation. Amrit Raj, President of Brihat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Adhikari/Employees Welfare Association said that the money will be handed over in the presence of the Chief Commissioner for the education of Shivakumar's children very soon.
3,000 from Grade A officers working in the Corporation, Rs 2,000 from Grade B employees, Rs 1,500 from Grade C employees. And Rs 1,000 from Grade D employees. After deducting the amount from salary, it is around Rs 95.5 lakh. He said that the check will be handed over in the presence of the Chief Commissioner for the education of Shivakumar's children.
Further, Amrit Raj, president of the association said that 2 ambulances with all kinds of facilities will be handed over free of cost to the Corporation by the BBMP Employees' Cooperative Association and the BBMP Officers/Employees Welfare Association in two months in memory of Shivakumar.
